African King gifts Sultan of Brunei two virgins towards Golden Jubilee celebration

Swaziland’s King Mswati III has sent two virgins to His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince of Brunei as gifts ahead of the celebration of his Accession to the Throne.

King Mswati III, who marries only virgins, says he hopes the gift is in recognition of His Majesty’s leadership that has led to the socio-economic development of Brunei

The virgins, whose names have been withheld, arrived in Brunei on Saturday and were met by officials in government.

The 28th of September 2017 has been set as the date of Opening the Gendang Jaga-jaga marking the start of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office in a sabda says the Opening of the Gendang Jaga-jaga Ceremony will be on Thursday 28th September 2017, while the closing ceremony will be on July 29th, 12th October 2017.

His Royal Highness delivered the sabda yesterday during the Third Meeting of the Executive Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne. The meeting held in July is a follow-up of the Second Meeting of the Executive Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne last February. It took place at the Prime Minister’s Office Building in Jalan Perdana Menteri.

Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office has underlined the importance of ensuring continuous momentum in the preparations for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne.

In a sabda delivered at the fourth meeting of the Executive Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration, His Royal Highness called for further enhancement of dedication and commitment, particularly from each of the celebration’s sectoral committees.

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office Building at Jalan Perdana Menteri.

His Royal Highness, who is also the Patron of the Advisory Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration, further recommended that the relevant preparations be completed by the end of August.

His Royal Highness also shared with the meeting the titah of His Majesty regarding matters arising from the Third Executive Committee Meeting, among which are: The duration of the ‘Gendang Jaga-Jaga Ceremony’ of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty‘s Accession to the Throne; a call for the committee to propose programmes or activities that are much anticipated by the public and that would bring them considerable benefit and relevance, thereby adding to the meaningful significance of the Golden Jubilee Celebration, for example, the awarding of a Special Scholarship in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee; and the consent of His Majesty for the proposed dates of opening ceremonies and for the renaming of certain infrastructures.

The presence of His Royal Highness portrays the Crown Prince’s high commitment and attentiveness in leading the direction of every aspect of planning and preparations to be implemented. The Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne is an opportunity for all citizens and residents in the country to celebrate His Majesty’s glorious reign as a wise Monarch who always cares for the people’s solidarity and well being. In this Executive Meeting, Co-chairpersons of the Sectoral Committees for the Golden Jubilee Celebration presented on the latest developments of the planned programmes and activities. Among the key matters that were discussed was the highlight of the Golden Jubilee Celebration which will be the Royal Parade, as held during the Silver Jubilee in 1992. The discussions showed the progress made in the necessary preparations for the celebration and it reflects the commitment of the Sectoral Committees in ensuring the successful implementation of the Golden Jubilee Celebration.
